'Tis the season...

.....for cherry blossoms!

This blog post will be short because, well, Cherry blossom season is short. Literally, two or three days. Cherry blossoms are known throughout Asia. Most people associate the cherry blossom with Japan, but they are in most Asian countries. The funny thing about cherry blossoms is that they only bloom for a few days, and then they are finished for the season!

We knew this was the weekend to see them bloom. Luckily for us, the walkway near our apartment was lined with cherry blossom trees. Walking through these beautiful trees really brightens up a simple trip to the subway station.

Krystal and I had heard about a cherry blossom festival in Seoul. So we took the two transfer, one and a half hour ride to Youido. There were loads of cherry blossoms there, but there were also loads of people! The streets were completely full!

We walked the streets, or should I say shuffled in between people. The blossoms were beautiful, but I think next time I would admire the ones near my apartment, because it was just soooo busy! But hey, looking at flowers on a beautiful day was a good way to spend a Sunday!

Some things we saw were not so beautiful. On our quest for street food, we saw this:

Bugs anyone? I am adventurous, but these were just a bit too much. Maybe soon I will get the courge to try bondaggi. Until then, pictures of it will have to satisfy any bug cravings I may have.

Our ride home as filed with lines. A line to buy our tickets. A line to go into the station. A line to get on the subway. The ride home was busy to say the least!

So many people! Worth the trip though? Totally :)
